The National Caribbean Monument Charity (TNCMC) Charity Golf Day

After months of planning the day finally came, 24th August 2017 at Perton Golf Course, Wolverhampton. Will it be raining, windy, cold or all three? Yes there was a slight chill in the air at the beginning of the day but the forecast was favourable and yes the sun shone, all day!

                    TNCMC representatives

There was an excellent turnout from Perton Club members, ably support by TNCMC representatives who were majority Caribbean Golf Society members. There was a distinct buzz of anticipation and so the day promptly got under way, shotgun style.

Media Team Jezelle & Mom reporting live

Shortly after Tee off we were joined by the TNCMC media team, Jazelle and her mother. Yes we were streamed live on various platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. Way to go ladies!

                            Good shot Mary!

                                 Post match

There were 3 TNCMC teams who performed admirably on the day but the real winners were both charities, Alzheimer’s and the The National Caribbean Monument Charity. £1,200 was raised for Alzheimer’s and hopefully a similar amount for TNCMC.

TNCMC Teams:
1. Mary Riley, Ken Brown, Adrian Swaby, Michael Taylor
2. Don Campbell, Keith Riley, Carl Douglas, Winston White
3. Josh Johnson, Elford Douglas, Noel Haye, Claude Berley

A very BIG thanks to Perton Ladies Captain, Verona, and all members of the golf club for organising the event and their wonderful hospitality. It was indeed a pleasure to have participated in such a fun day whilst raising much needed funds for charity.

I must also express my sincere thanks to Josh Johnson and Winston White for sponsoring the TNCMC T Shirts and Caps respectively. We all wore the TNCMC logo with immense pride and the local members endorsed the story of our future plan to Commission and install a monument in the National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire, for Caribbean people.

Many, many thanks, on behalf of the TNCMC Trustees, to everyone for whatever support you gave TNCMC, including all those who very kindly sponsored individuals. Many blessings.
