Newstyle Radio scooped donation for TNCMC.
We received fantastic news from presenter LJ Hunter of Newstyle Radio, Birmingham, announcing that an avid listener had donated a check to The National Caribbean Monument Charity (TNCMC).

I was invited to the Newstyle Radio Studio on 6th August 2020 to receive the cheque on behalf of TNCMC, donated by Birmingham Commonwealth Association. LJ was jubilant, not only to present the cheque, but also because it was Jamaica’s Independence Day so the show and her attire were reflective of the occasion.

I was introduced to her listening public, presented with the £250 cheque, and asked to read the donor’s accompanying letter live on air. LJ is very passionate about TNCMC and its campaign to erect a monument in the National Memorial Arboretum recognising the contributions of Caribbean Servicemen and women to Britain. This was my third interview on her show which always generates tremendous interest and support from the public, including two individuals who became members of TNCMC.
A massive thank you to Birmingham Commonwealth Association for their generous donation of £250 to the campaign of TNCMC. LJ should be extremely proud of the demonstrable support she continuously extends to this project.
I look forward to another invitation on 12 August 2020 to promote TNCMC on LJ’s show, Newstyle Radio 98.7 FM.
