Henley-in-Arden Rotary Club TNCMC Presentation 14th July 2020.

There was an invitation from the Henley-in-Arden Rotary Club to TNCMC to do a Presentation.  The venue was the Navigation Inn Henley-in-Arden on Tuesday 14th July 2020, carried out by Donald Campbell, Chairman TNCMC.

The President Mr David Burman kindly welcomed and introduced me to the members, as their guest speaker. It was immediately obvious that all members were eager to hear and learn of the purpose of The National Caribbean Monument Charity, and learning indeed took place judging from the feedback and the many questions posed from individuals. It was an absolute pleasure to meet the members who were very receptive, jovial and hospitable.

This was a very successful venture and it is hoped that further connections will be made with other Rotary Clubs around the country so that TNCMC will continue to network and educate the nation of the campaign and ethos of the charity. It was very evident that most, if not all members, were not aware of the contributions made by Caribbean Service men and women to Britain, so the stories must continue to be told.

My thanks to all concerned and I look forward to the next such presentation wherever it may be.

Big thanks to Sergeant Shiv Chand, TNCMC Ambassador, for connecting me to Mr Keith Degville who is a staunch member of the Henley-in-Arden Rotary Club. The President, Mr David Burman, has expressed a interest in forging a link with TNCMC to organising a joint visit to the National Memorial Arboretum at an appropriate date and time.
